Terms of Service

Welcome to 84 Edges ("the App", "we", "us", "our"). By downloading, installing, or using 84 Edges you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the App.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use 84 Edges. If you are under 18, you represent that a parent or legal guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms on your behalf. Players 13 and older may earn a prize, but a player under 18 cannot redeem one themselves: their parent or legal guardian must verify the claim from their own device and account, and the prize is awarded to that guardian (see Section 7 and the Official Rules in the App).

2. Account & Sign-In

84 Edges uses Sign in with Apple for authentication. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your Apple ID. Each Apple ID corresponds to a single 84 Edges account. You may not create multiple accounts or transfer your account to another person.

We reserve the right to suspend or permanently ban any account that violates these rules, including removing leaderboard entries and forfeiting any pending prize eligibility.

4. Gamer Tags

You may choose a display name ("gamer tag") that is visible on leaderboards. Gamer tags must not contain offensive, discriminatory, or inappropriate language. We reserve the right to reset any gamer tag that violates this policy without notice.

5. Leaderboards

Leaderboard rankings are determined by server-validated puzzle scores. All moves are replayed and verified server-side to ensure integrity. We may remove or adjust scores that are determined to be the result of cheating, exploitation, or technical error.

6. In-App Purchases

84 Edges may offer optional in-app purchases processed through Apple's App Store. All purchases are subject to Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement (EULA). Refund requests for in-app purchases must be directed to Apple.

7. Prizes & Rewards

84 Edges may, at its sole discretion, offer prize pools or monetary rewards to users who achieve specific in-game milestones (e.g., being the first eligible player to solve a designated level). Each campaign is governed by the Official Rules published in the App (Info → Official Rules), which form part of these Terms. The following rules apply:

  1. One redemption per user, ever. Each user account is eligible to redeem prize money a maximum of one (1) time across the lifetime of their account. Once a prize has been redeemed, the account is permanently ineligible for further prize redemptions, regardless of future achievements.
  2. Eligibility. You must reside in a jurisdiction where receiving such a prize is lawful. Players 18 or older may redeem a prize directly in the App. Players under 18 cannot redeem a prize themselves: a parent or legal guardian must verify the claim from their own device, signed into the App with their own Apple ID, and the prize is awarded to that guardian. Age is self-reported by birthdate at redemption. We may require age or identity verification before a prize is disbursed.
  3. Redemption window. After completing the target level and tapping "Redeem Now," you have 24 hours to finish redemption (including, for players under 18, guardian verification). If you do not finish in time, your place in line expires and another eligible player may claim the prize.
  4. Contact information. At redemption you (or, for a player under 18, your parent or legal guardian) must provide a contact email address, which we use to arrange payout. We are not responsible for a prize that cannot be paid because the address provided is incorrect or unreachable.
  5. Prize amounts. Prize values are displayed in the App and may change from day to day. The prize amount is locked at the time of redemption, not at the time the milestone is achieved.
  6. Verification. All prize-eligible achievements are subject to server-side validation. We reserve the right to deny any prize claim that cannot be verified or that we reasonably believe resulted from cheating or exploitation.
  7. Taxes. You are solely responsible for any taxes, duties, or reporting obligations arising from receiving a prize.
  8. No guarantee. Prize availability is not guaranteed. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the prize program at any time without prior notice.

8. Intellectual Property

All content in 84 Edges — including but not limited to puzzles, artwork, animations, sounds, and software — is owned by or licensed to us. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without our written permission.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

84 Edges is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the App, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of anticipated prize winnings, or service interruptions.

11. Account Deletion

You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time through the App's Settings screen. Account deletion is permanent and will forfeit any unredeemed prize eligibility. We will process deletion requests in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Effective" date at the top of this page indicates when the latest revision took effect. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Texas, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
